People to Christ:
NEW BELIEVERS IN 2006
In his best-selling book, "The Purpose Driven Life," Rick
Warren says, "When God has a bunch of baby believers he wants to
deliver, he looks for the warmest incubator church he can find." Well,
God is delivering some baby believers at JFM in 2006.
Since January 2006, there have been 102 people who have invited Christ
into their lives. There have probably been more, but that's how many we know
about. We're excited about that, and know full well that this is the work of
God, and that we just get to join Him in it.
At JFM, people come to Christ through a variety of ways. While
the majority decide to follow Christ as their Forgiver through one of our
3 weekly worship services, others make commitments in youth groups, through
children's ministries, sports programs, special events, funerals, classes,
counseling, or some other setting. It's all a piece of the first and key
component in our mission of "Winning people to Christ, building
people in Christ, and sending people for Christ."
Though we wish they would, we know not all of these new Christians settle in
at JFM. Some were out of town guests, end up at another church, or were just
here for a special event. Others, sadly, will "fall by the wayside," as Jesus
said. But many are and will be part of what the Lord is doing here at JFM.
